Methodology represents a sum of procedures and techniques that help developers to implement a new information system.
InterWay has designed its individual set of documents and templates with the aim to:
- Correctly record the requests for IS
- Offer a systematic overview of working procedures on IS
- Keep the project in acceptable time and cost limits
- Develop a well-documented and well-arranged system
It covers the project’s lifecycle to the full extend. It is divided into phases introducing the logical progression to non-trivial processes, e.g. software development; the phases also help to choose the appropriate techniques for task solution during each stage of the project’s lifecycle. It makes the planning and managing the projects much easier.
Each project phase is divided into tasks; each task includes roles and supportive documents. Moreover, so-called milestones are included in the methodology needed for controlling and assessment. The milestones stand for check points and sustain the project’s consistency. The complete product is clearly structured and easy to modify.
The following picture shows the idea of basic structure:

Methodology and standards
InterWay company has completed the methodology in order to simplify the lifecycle processes in software development with the aim to improve its quality. The final methodology is based on the world-recognised standards in this field. The aim is not to establish an artificial standard, norm or certification but to sustain a universal methodology suitable for software projects. The methodology concept is a result oriented one. The overview of process methodology shall be easily and transparently maintained.
InterWay methodology supports the following standards:
- Open Unified Process
- IEEE 12207
- Open Information Technology Infrastructure ITIL
Methodology and release
Methodology defines each stage of software lifecycle development. Firstly, when launching a new project, the roles are populated by people or companies. When passing individual phases, these roles are assigned by specific tasks that need to be provided in a particular phase of a project. The task can comprise supportive documents. These can be templates or forms needed by particular roles as defined in methodology. Each supportive document comprises a pre-defined role of its requester, developer in charge and a role of receiver. In this way, the complex methodology is flexibly modified according to the needs of providing team. Along with human resources management, there are also other important aspects of management duly noted in the project methodology.
InterWay methodology applies to any kind of projects. It is not tied to internal processes of InterWay.
